About World Recovery

World Recovery's primary mission is to provide support for community development and compassionate care for human suffering, Channeling resources to on-site workers and providing supports services for volunteers and staff working in the field through non-profit organizations who seek objectives similar to our own.  

The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami struck Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka with devastating results.  Estimates of the dead reached a quarter of a million people. This catastrophe created an enormous need for rebuilding lives, communities, infrastructure, and hope in the future for those who were directly affected by it.  This was the birthplace of our foundation’s mission.

During Relief work we enter a community to provide immediate basic needs.

After the relief work is complete our partners use Asset Based Community Development to help communities identify their assets and needs. Our programs are locally driven. The local communities we work in are the owners of the programs.
